OUR OUTREACH PROGRAMS & EVENTS

Champions of Freedom Appreciation Luncheon
Local veterans and their families are invited to attend our “Champions of Freedom” Appreciation Luncheon. This free event will show gratitude and acknowledgement to our veterans.
Light of Hope Community Candlelight Remembrance
A beautiful and moving event designed to bring the community together to remember those we’ve lost. The lighting of candles in remembrance of loved ones is an impactful, visual ceremony.
Healing Path Workshop Series
The Healing Path Workshop Series focuses on practical "next steps" in the healing journey after the loss of a loved one. Each workshop will have a different speaker and a different topic of interest.
Mother’s Day Memorial Butterfly Release
The loss of a mother, child, or other loved one can make Mother’s Day a very sad time of year. In remembrance of those who touched our hearts and shaped our lives, we invite all members of our community to this special butterfly release ceremony.
Youth Essay Contest
Open to Sacramento area students, we hope our annual Youth Essay Contest will inspire young people in our community to learn more about the true meaning of Memorial Day.
Father’s Day Rose Ceremony Remembrance
Uniquely inspiring, this hour-long program supports loss of parent, loss of child, and general loss. This is a free and family-friendly community event open to the entire public. A single long stem rose will be gifted to each registered guest.
Never Forget Tribute & Youth Art Exhibit
In remembrance of Sept. 11, 2001, Sacramento Community Outreach presents the Never Forget Tribute, which features a 3,000-piece American flag display and a special exhibit of artwork by local students.
Forever In Our Hearts Remembrance & Bubble Release
To commemorate National Infant & Pregnancy Loss Remembrance Day, our free community event will have an uplifting message, dessert reception, therapeutic activities, and an opportunity to honor those special little ones.
Meet Ursula Hebert: Community Outreach Coordinator
Happiest when she is able to lend a helping hand to those in need, Ursula has volunteered her time to Saint John’s Shelter for Women and Children, the Sacramento Historic City Cemetery, the Smithsonian Digital Archives Project, and to elementary schools in Elk Grove and South Sacramento.
