Q: How did you meet Rose?
A: Its been over 20 years that I've known Rose. We met through her husband Mitch and their dog Grumbles. Mitch would walk Grumbles everyday pass our house. At the time we had a dog. So, everyday, twice a day, we had doggie time. Over time, we met Rose. We became good friends over the years, so much so, when we had our third son, Kerrigan, we asked Mitch and Rose to be his godparents. So over the years, we would spend Kerrigan's birthday (which was 2 days before Mitch's) and a few other occasions together. Rose would be Strawberry Pretzel Salad. Which was always delicious. The picture of Rose and Kerrigan was taken Aug 2017. She would always laugh because he was so much taller than her. He was 13. Rose we will truly cherish our memories. Rest easy. We love you! Mary, Scooby, Keegan, Killian and Kerrigan.

There is no single memory that outshines the lifetime of joy I have seen your friendship bring to our mother’s heart. No matter where we were throughout the years, she could always look to you as a sounding board, as a lifeline, and as a sister.
We’ve been blessed to have you as part of our family. Thank you for lending our mom your strength when she needed it, and showing all of us the genuine love only you could express.
Your memory lives on as we follow your example and share these gifts with our loved ones.

Rosi's Eulogy shared at the Funeral Mass:
Dear friends and family,
Today, we gather to celebrate the life of my Aunt Rosi, a remarkable woman whose strength, determination, and love for her family left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Rosi was a trailblazer, a strong female role model who pursued her passions with unwavering dedication. She broke barriers in the field of nuclear weapons, becoming the only Filipino female to work with such power and responsibility. Her work inspecting Fleet Ballistic missiles was a testament to her intelligence and commitment to serving her country.
Rosi's accomplishments extended far beyond her professional life. She put herself through college, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from Baptist College of Charleston. She proudly served her country in the Navy Reserve, where she completed firefighter school and earned the nickname "Taz." Her dedication to her education and her country exemplified her strong character and unwavering work ethic.
Above all, Rosi loved her family. She cherished the time she spent with them, creating memories that will be treasured forever. The family trip to Disney World celebrating retirement, was a testament to her generosity and love. It was the first time the entire family vacationed together, and the joy and laughter shared during that trip will never be forgotten.
All of us will always remember the simple moments we shared with Rosi. The day my son Caleb was born, my Aunt Rosi stood by me with her unwavering love and support. I will forever carry that moment in my heart.
Rosi's zest for life was infectious. Her enthusiasm and love for fun were evident in everything she did. From jumping for joy at a high school football game to enjoying a day of shopping, Rosi embraced life with open arms.
As we say goodbye to Rosi, we remember a woman who lived life to the fullest, who loved deeply, and who inspired us all. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, a reminder of a life well-lived."

Dear Aunt Rosi,
I want to take a moment to tell you how much I love you and appreciate everything you did. I always looked forward to the times you'd come to Sacramento to visit, because your presence always brought the whole family together in such a special way. I loved when Uncle Mitch would cook! He made the best soup ever, those meals will forever be a cherished memory. Thank you for being there the day I was born and for supporting me every day since. Your love and kindness meant the world to me. I miss you more than words can say, Aunt Rosi.
With all my love,
Your Great Nephew Caleb

Dear Rosi,
You were the perfect hybrid of second Mom and cool Auntie to me. You've been in my life since I was a little girl and I have been blessed to have you involved in some of my life's important moments. I was so thrilled to have you as a part of my wedding and that you were able to come to Nathan's christening. I was so touched when you told me that every Christmas you put the ribbon Christmas tree that Nathan made on your mantle. We had hoped that you and Mitch would be able to attend Nathan's high school graduation, but I know you will be watching from above cheering him on.
You developed my love and addiction to reading. I treasured the Nancy Drew and Dana Girls mystery books you sent me when I was about 8 or 9. As our family moved from place to place I would read those books as a source of comfort and stability. Thanks you, I became a proud bookworm.
I will always associate Jazzercise you and NOT Jane Fonda! :) I always got a kick out of that fact that you competed in and won bodybuilding competitions. Your deeply rooted optimism, faith in the goodness of people, resilience and gentle strength was stronger than even your physical strength. You were a model of grace and dignity that I try to emulate even, on my bad days.
I am most thankful for the lifelong sisterhood that you had with my Mom. The two of you exemplify ride or die before we even knew what that was! But then again, the two of you were always ahead of the curve. :D
I shall miss you and you will always remain in my heart. Lener and Nathan also send their love and hugs to you too! Love, Patty

Aunt Rosi,
When I think of you I see you smiling and laughing. You were the life of the party, filled with wonderment, light and love.
You were the most thoughtful gift giver ever, wrapping each present with a little note for every holiday and you never missed a beat. We felt your love and warmth from across the country. Even now in your absence your abundant love will carry us all through.
I will sign off with the same sentiment as you always did…
We love you to the moon and back Aunt Rosi.

To honor Mitch & Rosi:
I know our hearts are heavy today and none more than the person who spent the last 34+ years sharing lives with my Aunt Rosi.
If you spent any considerable amount of time with them, you may know him by more affectionate names like “sweetheart” or “honey”. As a husband going on 20+ years myself, I can only imagine the loss you’re feeling and I thank you for allowing me to share your words and memories with the rest of us.
Mitch reminds us that Rosi had a unique ability to see the best in everyone. She approached every person she met with an open heart and a genuine desire to connect. To know Rosi was to have a friend, a confidant, and an unwavering supporter. Her desire to learn, whether from a museum plaque or a new experience, was only matched by the love she shared.Perfectly encapsulated in a common Freeman household phrase, "I love you with my whole heart".
While married for 34 years, their courtship began many years before. They spent countless weekends driving back and forth between Charleston, SC and Kingsland, GA which for us California folks is roughly equivalent to driving from SF to Lake Tahoe. Eventually, they were able to be together when Rosi got a job at the Submarine Base in Kings Bay. Their love and careers continued to flourish with the highly surveilled and strategic FBM, or the Fleet Ballistic Missile Program, helping to safeguard and guide sailors responsible for accessing one of the Navy’s most precious resources.
Over the years, their shared projects and social interactions were almost exclusively tied to the FBM world. Their work was their life, becoming kindred spirits both celebrating and commiserating about their days. They saw incredible value in being able to commute together, communicate throughout the workday cherishing their companionship.
After retirement, many years traveling intra and interstate. Their longest adventures taking them across the country in a motorhome affectionately known as the Gedunk, visiting family in California and taking in all of our country’s natural and cultural treasures along the way. A lot of driving and a lot of time to appreciate each other and utter their catchphrase that I will paraphrase for us today: so in Mitch’s words but also for us all, Rosi even in your absence, “we love you with our whole heart”

To my favorite Aunt,
You never missed a birthday, Easter, Halloween, or Christmas. Your thoughtfulness shone through in every gift and treat you sent, always picking the perfect ones. I will never forget that day at Ghirardelli Square in San Francisco when my Mom said no, you still made sure I got something sweet.
More than anything, thank you for being such a wonderful sister to my Mother. She loved you deeply, and so do I.
I love and miss you always,
Your nephew, Jason

My sister had a heart as big as the world. She loved deeply, her family, her friends, and everyone she worked with. She built connections effortlessly, always ready to offer kindness, laughter, and forgiveness.
There are countless beautiful memories so many times she said, “I love you” or “I forgive you”. Even in the hardest moments, she chose love. During her battle, Rosi and I were able to FaceTime every day, even if just for a few seconds. Those moments, no matter how brief, are treasures I will hold onto forever.
Rosi will always have a special place in my heart. My family Jason, Sean, Trina, Augie, and Lalou loved her dearly, and we will miss her more than words can ever say.
Love Always,
Your sister Lea ❤️

There are people in this world who make life feel warmer, who remind you through every action, every word, every moment shared, that you are loved, that you are never alone. My Aunt Rosi was one of those people. She was a constant, a light, the kind of person who never wavered in her love and support. No matter what was happening in my life, no matter how near or far we were, she was always there.
Every year, without fail, she would call me on my birthday. And not just any call, she and my Uncle Mitch would sing "Happy Birthday" to me, their voices carrying the kind of love that makes you feel cherished, no matter how old you are. It was such a small thing, yet it meant everything. It was a reminder that she was thinking of me, that she remembered, that she cared. And that was who she was, someone who never let the people she loved feel forgotten.
She was kind in a way that made the world feel softer, supportive in a way that made hard times feel a little easier, and positive in a way that reminded me to keep going, even when life felt overwhelming. No matter what I was going through, I could always count on her to be in my corner, to offer a word of encouragement, to remind me that I was capable, that I was loved.
I am going to miss her more than words can say. I'll miss sharing my life with her, telling her about my days, my joys, my struggles. I'll miss hearing her voice, feeling her unwavering support. There will always be an emptiness where she used to be, but I know that the best way to honor her is to carry forward what she taught me, to be a better friend, a better daughter, a better source of love and support for the people in my life.
Aunt Rosi, thank you for everything. Thank you for your kindness, your love, your unwavering belief in me. I was so lucky to have you, and I will carry you with me always.
