







Obituary of Cosme Damien Juarez
Cosme Damien Juarez - September 27, 1923 - January 31, 2025.
Cosme was born in San Luis Obispo California to Joseph Juarez and Trinidad Holguin Juarez, one of nine siblings. He bravely served his country in the US Army Air corps. He served in World War II as a radio operator aboard a B17 bomber aircraft, flying in 20 successful missions in the European Theater of Operations, He received an honorable discharged on October 17, 1945 as a Technical Sergeant.
He attended and graduated from CalPoly Sal Luis Obispo with a degree in engineering. In 1950 he married the love of his life Alice Martinez. They adopted three children, Laura, Michael (deceased) and Edward, and had three grandchildren, Aaron, Marie, and Mary Alice. He worked for the State of California as an Associate Engineer for 37 years.
He was a devout Catholic, and participated in many charitable activities with the Church.
Cosme was an avid golfer, averaging close to par for much of his playing days. After retiring in 1980 he and Alice moved to an eight acre property in Wilton, California. He continued to play golf, took flying lessons, and raised thoroughbred horses.
After Alice passed away in 2012, he kept active, nurturing many friendships and family relationships. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family, including many nephews and nieces, and all who knew him.
