John Manipol Madrillejos Jr., of Sacramento, CA, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2025 at the age of 71. Born on November 16, 1953 in Malate, Manila, Philippines to the late Juanito Sr. and Teofila Madrillejos. John attended Tejeros Elementary School in Barangay Carmona, Makati City and started High School at Foundation College in Santa Ana, Manila, and Finished High School at Balboa High School in San Francisco, CA. At the Age of 16 John moved to San Francisco, California where he was naturalized and his name was changed by decree of the court from Juanito to John as part of the naturalization process.

After graduating from High School, he joined the United States Army. John lived a life filled with kindness, passion, humor, humbleness. Though he never had children of his own, his impact on the lives of his nieces, nephews, and extended family was immeasurable.
John was a devoted brother, uncle, great-uncle, and friend. He cherished the time he spent with his family, and was a constant source of support and laughter. He was particularly fond of all his nieces and nephews and his great-nieces and nephews. He loved to play and watch baseball, basketball, and football. I can remember a time he would take us all to park in San Francisco and play basketball.

He would also take us to the swimming pool. He had a generous spirit and he loved us all. John was a Lead Cook. He enjoyed working at Oracle Park in San Francsico. He loved working at the park to him it was a hobby where he can watch live games. We would ask him when would he retire kept on saying next year. He was known for his dedication to his job that was immeasurable it did not matter if
he would just work for a day at a time he would be there when asked.

He will be deeply missed by his siblings, Oscar Madrillejos of Cabolutan, Romblon, Philippines, Cesar Madrillejos Sr. of San Francisco, California, 2 sisters Aida Madrillejos of San Francisco, California, and Faye Balingit of Sacramento, California and his many nieces and nephews, his extended family, and his many friends.
