Elsie Harding, 99 1/2 years old, of Sacramento, passed away on February 28, 2026 in Elk Grove.

Elsie was born in Hulme, Manchester, England to Edmund John Bennell and Mary Alice Hawcroft on September 22, 1926. She attended school in Manchester, England, and married Buddy E. Harding on November 16, 1943 in Manchester, England during WWII. She came to America by ship in 1945. She had a few odd jobs and then worked for Pacific Telephone Company for almost 30 years as an engineer in Sacramento.  Some time after she retired, she started volunteering at The Salvation Army and went to Church and Home League regularly.

Elsie is proceeded in death by her husband Buddy Harding, her brothers Ron Youd, Jack Griffiths, and Jack Bennell. Also, her sister, Edna Coombes and all their spouses.

Elsie is survived by her two daughters Susan Callaway, Denise Flynn and their spouses. Also survived by her son Jeffrey Harding and her nieces Brenda Thornton, Barbara Coombes, Molly West, and their spouses. As well as her grandchildren, Jennifer Furgerson, Meghan Hamilton, Kaitlyn Johnson, Ryan Murray, their spouses and six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild that she dearly loved.

Memorial service will be held at Sacramento Memorial Lawn with  immediate family and close friends.
