Rose González Álvarez passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 9th. She was born in Minatare, Nebraska on June 4th, 1943 to Lupe and Joe Gonzalez. When she was a child the family moved to Sacramento where she spent most of her life.

Rose had two great loves of her life - her husband, Pete Alvarez, and her son, Lorenzo Lopez. She was a devoted wife and mother and in turn was the recipient of the unlimited love and care of her husband and son. She is survived by both of them.

She is survived by her sister, Helen and her nieces Jackie and Jennifer. They, along with Madelyn, her sister -in -law, and her husband Patrick, and their family, were part of Rose’s extended family and were a part of her daily life here.

Rose worked for the State of California for 27 years and retired at the age of 65 as an analyst for teacher credentialing.
