She enjoyed a successful career with the Federal Government holding various positions at the Sacramento Army Depot. Vivian tapped in on her entrepreneurial side of cooking and selling baked goods. She later retired after 30-plus years. After retirement, she worked for Para Transit. Vivian will be remembered as a warm, caring person who had a sincere love for people. She is survived by her husband Icha Housen; son Ernest (Ronna) Cason, Jr.; two stepdaughters, Lillian (Gary) Housen, Amani (Jess); an adopted son, Lanier Dangerfield; father and mother, Samuel and Lula Butler; five siblings, Helen Scott, Samuel B. Butler, Sandra Brown, William (Vijay) Butler and Kristi Walker; two sisters-in-law, Phyllis (Timothy) Fitzpatrick and Gloria; eleven grandchildren; godchildren and a host of other relatives and friends who loved and respected her dearly. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2011, at 1pm at Sacramento Memorial Lawn, 6100 Stockton Blvd, Sacramento, CA.
