Booker T. Byrd, Jr. passed away peacefully on December 13, 2012. He leaves to mourn his wife of 52 years Evelyn Byrd, his sons Michael and Wendell, his sister Sammie Pickens; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends. Born on September 20, 1936, he was the oldest of four children. Booker graduated from McClatchy High School 1955. He served his country in the United States Army; graduated from Sacramento City College and worked 34 years for the Sacramento Army Depot. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 21, 2012 at 5p.m. and services will be held on Saturday December 22, 2012 at 11am, at Sacramento Memorial Lawn; 6100 Stockton Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95824.
