Obituary of Edward Roddy

Edward Roddy was born on February 23, 1946 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to the late Earl and Verlie Mae Roddy. He was called to rest from his labor on April 12, 2021 at 3:30 pm at Woodside Healthcare Center in Sacramento, CA. Earlier in life he accepted Jesus Christ and was a devoted member and Usher of Calvary Evangelism Center. He read the bible daily and placed real value on putting his trust in the Lord. He met Betty Jean Davis and they were married on July 27, 1985. There were 35 wonderful years with this marriage. Edward was a very loving, hardworking, and slow to anger husband and father who enjoyed helping others. One of his passions was computers, so he decided to go back to school and received a diploma from NRI Schools Institute for a master course in Microcomputers and Microprocessors in 1996. He then continued his education and went on to receive another diploma in PC Repair in 2001, which led him to start a PC Repair business from 2003 - 2019. Another one of his passions were automobiles. For more than 50 years he was a great Auto Technician and with that knowledge he fixed all types of vehicles. Any chance he got he loved to take walks along the river path and also do some fishing, he even talked about getting himself a medium sized boat. Edward was preceded in death by his sister Ruby Underwood and his memory will be cherished by his wife Betty Jean Roddy, three daughters Lakeisha Roddy-Taylor (Anthony), Laquita Roddy Jackson (Terrance), and Kristel Crouse (Ryan); four sons Edward Roddy Jr, Scottie Roddy (Monique), Jeffrey Roddy and Brent Davis; six sisters Estella Bledsoe, Susie Baskins, Earlymae Fennell, Earsell Phipps, Birdia Freeman (Sam) and Dimples Smith; one brother Evere Roddy; 15 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
