Andre Dwight Johnson was born on July 7, 1967 in San Francisco, California. He is the child of Elizabeth Morris. Andre departed this life on May 28, 2021 while surrounded by loved ones. Andre accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He participated in the choir and was also an usher at Mt. Enon Missionary Baptist Church. Growing up in San Francisco, Andre attended school in the San Francisco Unified School District, graduating from Mission High School in San Francisco. Being the eldest of four, Andre fulfilled the role of big brother and protector. He loved being a father, grandfather and a supporting uncle. He enjoyed all sports as a youth, but but he thrived in football. He was the constant entertainer. Even further, he loved making people laugh and holding an audience. His larger than life personality was only shadowed by his huge heart and love of family. Andre loved the Lord and frequently attended church. Andre was a devoted and loving son, father grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He loved spending quality time with his family. Spending time with his mom was something he truly enjoyed. He would frequently take trips to her home to watch NBA games. he loved sitting with his Mother while debating about LeBron James and several other players. This was their time to banter about who was the best basketball player in the league. Andre loved his children and wanted the best for them. He frequently called his son, DaMonte Johnson. They conversed about life and the day to day blessings. When DaMonte moved to Las Vegas, Andre took every opportunity to visit. Between the casino, the buffet and time with his son,he couldn't ask for more. Andre loved his daughter Indigo Johnson and always said how beautiful and proud he was of her. He always smiled when he mentioned her and was extremely excited when she gave him his first and only grandchild Kameron Kind. Andre spent a lot of time helping to raise his youngest son and namesake Andre Dwight Johnson Jr. (A.J.). They enjoyed shopping and watching sports. Andre enjoyed the quality time he spent with A.J. and always gave him advice on how to be a great football player/ athlete.
