Obituary of Tomasa Ordono Casuga

Please share a memory of Tomasa to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
A Glimpse Of Her Past Tomasa Mansing' O. Casuga was born on March 3, 1928, unto Ma. Consolacion and Vicente Ordono in the small barrio of Dalumpinas Este, City of San Fernando, Province of La Union, Philippines. Tomasa and her brother Leon were orphaned at a very young age. They grew up under the guidance and care of their 2 maternal aunts and an uncle. She had to give in for her brother Leon and her cousins' schooling but she never stopped learning in her own ways. She took care of her old grandfather who was blind. Mansing had witnessed and survived the savages of World War II. Her brother Leon was a Korean War MIA soldier but Tomasa was proud that the lineage of soldier in the family was carried on by a granddaughter who is currently with the US Air Force. She was married to Martin Casuga. In December 4, 1965, her husband entered into rest leaving behind Tomasa and all of her 10 budding children: Felicitas, Rolando, Demetrio, Constante, Concepcion, Nena, Trinidad, Elvira, Melchor and Higino. In January 1995, she made the toughest decision of her life, when she left behind her 9 children and a number of grandchildren back home with high hopes that this would be a path to a better future for her family. She migrated to the United States of America joining her eldest daughter. A devout Catholic, she's been an active member of OSCA (Office of the Senior Citizen Association) in the Philippines. In addition to her brother and husband, she was preceded, in death by her daughter Nena, son Constante, a grandson and 2 great grandchildren. In May 13, 2011 God has called her home to rest. Surrounded by her children, Felicitas, Concepcion, Trinidad, Melchor, granddaughter Regina and husband Allan with their little girl Thea, she passed away peacefully. With her wonderful memories to remember, she leaves behind a living legacy of 8 children, 21 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. A visitation and vigil will be held at Sacramento Memorial Lawn and Funeral Homes on June 8, 2011 at 4pm-10pm. Praying of the Holy Rosary will be at 6pm of the same day. Funeral service will be held at St. Paul Catholic Church on June 9, 2011 at 10am. She will be laid to her final resting place at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in the Holy Family Shrine-East right after the Mass. Families and friends are invited to a reception after the services at St. Paul Catholic Church as we continue to honor and commemorate her life.
