Obituary of Claretha Robinson

       “Forever Loved and Never Forgotten” 

Claretha Gipson Robinson was born December 9, 1935, in Panama City, Florida, to the late Ruthie Mae Green Gipson and Roosevelt Gipson.  As a child she grew up in Panama City, Florida with her family, where she graduated from Rosenwald High School.

On September 3, 1954, she was united in holy matrimony to Emitt Robinson.  Claretha was a devoted military spouse for over 20 years.  This allowed her to travel to Europe and many U.S. states before they retired in Sacramento, California in 1974. Claretha had a strong love of working with children.  She worked for 27 years at the Playmate Nursery in Oak Park California, before retiring in 2001.  Claretha was a faithful and loyal member of Antioch Progressive Church of God in Christ in Sacramento, California under the leadership of Pastor Bernie L. Toliver.  In September 2008 Claretha and Emitt relocated to Decatur, Georgia.  She attended Ray of Hope Church under the leadership of Pastor Cynthia Hale.  Claretha loved the lord and dedicated her life to Christ early in life.

Claretha leaves to cherish her memories - her spouse of 67 years, Emitt Robinson of Decatur Georgia, daughters Linda Robinson, of Decatur Georgia, Cheryl Robinson of Sacramento California, daughter Danette Robinson (deceased), son Daniel Robinson of Decatur Georgia, four granddaughters, Mahogany Robinson Harness (Ronald), Porsha Robinson Telford (James), Tahjanae Robinson, Talayah Robinson, grandson, Brandon Robinson, sister Gladys Gipson Abernathy, brother’s Roosevelt Gipson, John Gipson, James Gipson, sisters, Clora Mae Johnson (deceased), Minnie Lee Gipson (deceased), brothers , Paul Gipson (deceased), Hezekiah Gipson (deceased),  four great grandsons, four great granddaughter and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Claretha has returned home, where she will join her parents Ruthie Mae and Roosevelt, along with her beloved daughter, and all of whom have proceeded her in transition to eternal peace.
