Obituary of Gerald Duane Bengel

Jerry Bengel was born in 1936 on January 11th. He always loved to tell people that he was born “on 1/11 at 1:11.” He died with his family by his side April 25, 2022 at 86 years old. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Marlys (2/26/12), his wife of 54 years. He is survived by his son Dave Bengel and his wife, Sue Boucher, and his daughter Jill Hannon and her husband Dave Hannon. Jerry is also survived by his two grandchildren, Amy Hannon and Indigo Hannon. He is also survived by his sister, Joyce Rhodes and her husband Bob Rhodes along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends too numerous to count.

Jerry was an active member of the Capitol A’s Sacramento Model A Club and just recently was honored for sixty years of membership. He and Marlys rarely missed a meeting, special event, roundup, swap meet or any other club activity. To say he loved his Model A is an understatement. Along with his family, it was his life.

Funeral service will be held May 18, 2022 at Sacramento Memorial Lawn, 6100 Stockton Blvd at 11:00 am.
