Irene peacefully passed the morning of August 7 th after a brief battle with Leukemia. She was

surrounded by her loving family during the last days of her life. Nene never lost her sense of humor.

Irene was born in El Paso, Tx, but had been a Sacramento, Ca resident for 47 years where she worked for

the state and retired from the state.

Nene never married or had children; her motto was “I hate kids”. She was a softy, she loved them all.

Irene had 13 nephews/nieces, 12 great nephews/nieces and countless cousins who she saw grow up.

Nene was a beautiful soul inside and out, always lending a hand and giving advice. She was deeply loved

and will be greatly missed.

Irene is survived by her brother Raul Ruben Mendoza, sister Esther Gallegos and baby sister Diana

Mendoza.

She was preceded in death by her mother Guadalupe Mendoza, father Raul Mendoza, brother Gerardo

Mendoza and nephew Eric Mendoza.
