Obituary of Garfield Buie Jr.

Garfield Buie, passed away on Monday December 11, 2023 in Sacramento, CA at the age of 68 surrounded by loved ones. Garfield was born on December 12, 1954 to the union of Garfield Sr & Estella Buie of Brookhaven, Mississippi. Garfield moved to Sacramento California in 1977, where he met and married his loving wife of 45 years, Miriam Buie. Garfield retired in 2016 after being employed for over 30 Years at Farmer’s Rice Cooperative as a Master Grader. Garfield was well known for his joking nature and was fiercely protective of those he loved and cared for. Garfield was a dedicated life long, Dallas Cowboys fan and rarely missed watching any games. In his golden years Garfield was happiest when surrounded by his family and enjoyed participating and directing the family BBQs. Garfield enjoyed returning to Lansing Michigan to visit his family and friends and was loved and cherished by many. Garfield was preceded in death by his parents Estella & Garfield Buie, Sr. He leaves to cherish his memory, dedicated wife Miriam Buie, his sisters, Diane Buie and Patricia Dillion. Children: Demetrius T. Hodge, Lydell I (Samantha) Buie, Sylvester D. Johnson & Crystal R. Buie. Grandchildren: Crystal M. Gonzales-Buie, Lydell I Buie, Jr, Crystal A. Feliciana and Weston M. Hodge. Great Grandchildren: Gizelle R Guzman, Lydell I. Buie III, Katalaya Guzman as well as many additional family members and loved ones.
