Shepherd, Talmadge (Tal) H.

         Born in Calhoun City, Mississippi, on October 8th, 1927 to Cecil Rhodes & Minnie Lee Shepherd. Tal passed away peacefully on July 5th, 2024 in Sacramento, California. He came to California in 1945 after joining the NAVY. He spent about four years in the service. While in the NAVY he met his true love Rosa Lee. (preceded in death) - During their 61 years being together he fathered three wonderful children. Thomas Lynn Shepherd, "Lisa Wong Shepherd", Stephen Michael Shepherd, Kim Taggart, & daughter Melanie Lee Maes. Who in return gave him four grandchildren. Savannah Rose Payne, Kayla Dawn Shepherd, Brian Shepherd, and Kyle Lee Shepherd. Who in return gave him three lovely great grandchildren. David Michael Payne III, Shaylah Danyelle Payne, and Jezzabelle Skye Payne.

          He leaves behind the above children and also beloved sisters Betty Sue Clark in Noblesville, Indiana & Jo Ann Griffin in Gautier, Mississippi. He joins his other two sisters Margaret Jean Owens and Francis Rey Smith in death. Tal was an avid golfer who liked to play with his cronies Joe Kochie and Jack Noonan, both deceased. He was president of Sacramento Golf Club of Haggin Oaks in 1964. He loved all his sports but really liked his golf. 

      Family & friends are welcome to his Funeral Service at Sacramento Memorial Lawn 6100 Stockton Blvd. On August 16th, 2024 at 1:00pm. Burial is private. Celebration of Life will be held by Melanie Maes at 5661 El Granero Way 95822.
