Sacramento Memorial Lawn honors the memory of Pearl Delores Johnson, who went home to be with the Lord on September 4, 2013. Remembering Her Story Nanette Pearl Jones-Lewis a.k.a. Pearl Delores Johnson was born May 7, 1934 in Forest Mississippi, to the proud parents of Robert Lewis & Adell Jones; she was the only child to this union. Pearl loved spending time with her Dad and often bragged about him. Pearl will let you know that she was born "Grown", therefore her wisdom stretched far beyond her years. She was Steadfast and Loyal. Pearl was a faithful Jehovah Witness and committed to her studies. At Age 12, Pearl moved to Pittsburg, CA to live with her aunt where she met, fell in love and married her childhood sweetheart Edward Creswell from that union they had six children all girls Linda, Brenda, Cheryl, Debra, Carla and Elaine (RIP). Later Pearl settled down with Charles Johnson and from that union they had a son Charles Kevin and her Spiritual daughter Susan. Shortly after his birth she moved to Oakland, CA and worked as a House Keeper for several years before retiring. Once Pearl became a grandmother she decided that no one else would raise her grandchildren and she became Ganny! A Dedicated, Affectionate, Fun Loving, and Sassy Day-Care Provider: raising her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her great-great grandchildren and many of you. Pearl was known to her family and friends as "Ganny". She was into decorating and beautifying her home which was one of her strengths. Education and high expectations were instilled in all her children. Pearl loved music and dancing and you could always hear her playing her music from Friday to Sunday night. Ganny loved to entertain she also loved being entertained. Ganny was proud of all her children no matter what you were into she always said "Do your Best and that's "All you can do"! Enjoyed cooking and prided herself on her food and her apron's. If you've ever dropped in on her during the week she was sporting one of her many aprons. Pearl leaves to treasure her memories: five daughters and one son: Linda, Brenda, Cheryl, Debra, Carla and Chuck Her Spiritual daughter Susan, her brothers: Charles, James, Tommy, Ray and Roosevelt. Ten grandchildren: Telicia, Donnell, Jeannine(Qui), Joye, Kyla, Leon, Tanzania, Krystal, Tumone and Cheyanne, Ronnie, Tolona. Great Grandchildren: Tamika, DeAndrea, Ty-Licia, Jameisha, J'Nyliah, Jameelah, Tione, Jonathan Jr., Leon Jr., Davijon Jr., Takari, Tiara, BreShon, Da'Quan, Chenoa, Jabarri, Zania, Kinedy, Anna and Martell. Great-Great Grandchildren: Isaiah, Darell Jr., Journie and a multitude of extended Family and Friends. Ganny Loved all of you whom she contributed a warm embrace! There will never be another Ganny like ours. Preceding her in death: her daughter Elaine; her husband Eddie; her grandchildren: Davijon Sr., LaDonna, RaSheda her brother Robert, her father Robert, her mother Adell, Son-N-Laws: Leon, Rickey, Jimmy (Jap), and Steven. Her sister Deloris and her best friend Lula.
