Born May 17, 1932 in the village of Pharala, district Nawanshahr of Punjab, India. He departed this life April 15, 2011 in Sacramento, California after surviving a tragic and senseless shooting on March 4, 2011. Mr. Atwal was a great man who enjoyed reading anything that could be read, and loved taking long walks through his neighborhood. A beloved husband and father, he leaves behind his wife, three sons, one daughter, 10 grandchildren, and many loving family and friends. He will be dearly missed. Friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, April 22, 2011 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm, with Funeral services on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 11:00am, both at Sacramento Memorial Lawn.
