Obituary of Elsie Schulz (Nelson) Schulz
Please share a memory of Elsie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On August 15, 2016, while with her loving caregivers, Elsie passed away peacefully at the assisted-living care home where she resided. She was born on January 16, 1930 in Westwood, California to Gustav Sigfried and Hulda Kristina (Mattiasson) Nelson. Her family moved to Galt, California in 1936 where she later attended Galt High School. It was at high school, where she met the love of her life and future husband, John Edward Schulz. They were married in Galt on September 1, 1950 and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2010. While John was in the military and later while working for the Campbell Soup Company, Elsie held down the fort as a loving and devoted wife and mother. Her kindness, generosity and classy easy-going demeanor were respected by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Arnold Nelson. Elsie is survived by her loving and devoted daughters Debbie Sareeram (Gary), Karin Schulz, grandson, Nick Sareeram (Jayma), sisters Alice Underwood, Helen Reeder, great grandchildren Abi, Zeke and Ryan and many nieces and nephews. A private graveside service was held on August 25, 2016. Elsie was laid to rest next to her beloved John at the Sacramento Memorial Lawn. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to California Carehomes LLC, 8700 Seckel Court, Elk Grove CA 95624.
