Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss. Melvin and I were in Graduate school together, though I did not know him well, his thoughtful demeanor and gentle personality were what set him apart. In class where often controversial material would generate heated debate, Melvin always maintained his poise and so eloquently conveyed his position with conviction and his considerate manner. I am so saddened by this tragic news, my thoughts and prayers go out to all those who knew him. I will remember Melvin for his respectful, kind and pleasant nature, and for the genuine gentleman he was. Rest in peace Melvin.
