Obituary of Mary D. Campos

Mary Duran Campos passed away peacefully with her family at her side on August 26, 2017 after a battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Born November 3, 1926 in San Antonio, Texas to the late Francisco and Paula Duran, she moved to Sacramento in 1948 and was a fifth-generation resident. She is preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters and is survived by sisters Olivia Cortez, Margaret Apolinar, and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by son, Gilbert Campos, daughter Hilda Campos, grandchildren, Charmaine Garcia, Francesca Rodriguez, Marcos Campos, great grandchildren, Ivana Vela, Manuel Valdez, Mercedes Ruelas, Olivia Ruelas, Sean Garcia, Vanysia Campos, Andres Garcia, Marcos Campos II, Nevaeh Garcia, great great grandchildren, Yansiel and Joniel Centeno, King and baby Bajet. After becoming a Sacramento resident, she learned the upholstery trade and worked in the business until her employment with The Sacramento Army Depot where she subsequently retired. Throughout the years, she participated in several community organizations and was a lifetime VFW Post 67 Auxiliary Member. She loved her culture, music, dancing and traveling. She will be sadly missed by many who knew and loved her. All services will be held, at Sacramento Memorial Lawn, 6100 Stockton Blvd. Sacramento 95824.
