Todd Karels, funeral home manager for Sacramento Memorial Lawn, died Saturday, Nov. 9, of heart failure at the age of 51. He is survived by his wife, Stefania Bonazza, and their two daughters, Jessica and Isabella. Born September 21, 1962, Todd was a high school football star who graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota, and was an avid follower of the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He was a wonderful father and husband who loved spending time with his wife and children, and will be missed. The funeral service will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, in Oakmont Mortuary's Redwood Chapel, with a 5 p.m. viewing prior to the service. The burial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15, at Oakmont Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a trust fund benefiting his girls.
