Obituary of James McClain Speaks

Born in Gould, Oklahoma to his parents Steven and Fannie Speaks. He went to school in Oklahoma until the death of his father. From there he was the man of the house. He dropped out of school and went to work to support and provide for his family of two brothers, two sisters, and mother. James joined the military while serving his time, James met the love of his life, Lea in Texas. They got married in 1958. In the 60's James and Lea moved together to Sacramento, California. Here he began to work as a grounds keeper. James and Lea had five children together; Joanna, James, Jr., Timothy, Clara and Charles. He was a proud father. He retired from his job in 1996. On November 26, 2010 James past peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family. He last his battle to prostate cancer. He preceded in death by his wife, brothers, sisters, and two children. He was a die hard 49er fan and Grandpa to all who knew him. Especially his loving grandchildren; Rebecca, Hector, Johnny, Tim, Genesis, Charles,Jr.,Maurice, Marques, Trisha, Justin, Brittney, Darius, Dronte, Darnell, Jay, John, and Angie. Also, his great-grandchildren Malakhi, D'Angelo, Auburn, and Jazelle. Friends and Family are invited to a visitation Wednesday December 8, 2010 at 12:00 noon at Sacramento Memorial Lawn 6100 Stockton Blvd. Sacramento, CA 95824. Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. following the visitation.
