Obituary of Mesaila Fernandez Roux

IN LOVING MEMORY OF Mesaila Fernandez Roux December 9, 1921 - November 9, 2011 Mesaila Fernandez Roux, 89, of Sacramento, California, passed away at home in the arms of God, on November 9, 2011, surrounded by all those who loved her deeply. Mesaila was born on December 9, 1921, in the town of Posorubio, Pangasinan of the Philippines. She was one of seven children born to Julian and Catalina Fernandez. Mesaila was the eldest daughter and learned early that care and dedication to family and Church was an integral part of her life. On April 8, 1943 she married her late husband, Napoleon Roux, of 62 years. Mesaila mothered twelve children. At the age of 50, Mesaila and her late husband came to America. She lived a rewarding life as a full time mother to her 12 children, grandmother to 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Her unconditional love for those around her was exemplified through her care giving. She never faltered to create loving meals for her family or provide a garden for family members to enjoy and reflect. She was a very strong and influential figure in her family; always there to provide a shoulder to lean on or an ear to listen. Her devotion to her family was only surpassed by her love to God. She was a faithful follower of the Lord's teachings and a dedicated church member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church. Besides being a loving mother and grandmother, she enjoyed traveling and loved the outdoors. She has touched her family and friends lives and soul. Her presence was a gift her family and friends will cherish and forever be thankful for. She will be greatly missed and will always be remembered by her family and friends. Mesaila is survived by 11 children, 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Family and friends are welcome to join the visitation on Wednesday, Nov. 16th from 5-8pm and Rosary from 8-9pm at Sacramento Memorial Lawn (6100 Stockton Blvd. Sac. 95824). Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, Nov. 17th at 10am at St. Joseph Catholic Church (9961 Elk Grove Florin Rd. Sac. 95624) and interment to follow at St. Mary s Cemetery (6700 21st Ave.Sac.95820). The family requests that donations be made, under her name, to the Mercy Hospice Foundation (3400 Data Dr. Rancho Cordova, CA95670).
