Obituary of Ravindra Deo Sharma

Please share a memory of Ravindra to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ravindra Deo Sharma was born at the Ba Mission Hospital, in Ba, Fiji islands to the late Vishnu Deo Sharma and Lila Wati Balraji on September 7, 1965. Having lost his father at the age of 15, Ravindra was raised by his mother who remembers that he always made her proud. She worked hard to care for him and make him the strong, self-made man that he became. He attended Ba Mission Primary School for grades K to 8 and Ba Methodist High School from grade 9 to 12. He then further went to Fiji School of Agriculture where he received his degree in Agriculture and Veterinary Science. Ravindra loved learning, as he also earned a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, and an Associates degree in Forensic Accounting. He started work at a mine in Tavua for 6 months. Then he transferred to Nausori and was a poultry farm manager at Crest Chicken. Then he went on to work for Kamil Muslim College as a school tecaher for 2 years. Further he joined Fiji Development Bank and worked as a Loans Officer until 2003 and then worked for General Machinery for a year as a Senior Accountant/General Manager. Lastly, before migrating to United States he worked at Crest Chicken as Senior Accountant. Ravindra married Anjula Devi Sharma on January 21, 1989. Together they had three beautiful daughters, Ravita Angelin Devi, Ranjalika Aashna Devi and Sanjini Ranisha Devi. He brought his family to the United States in February 2008, whereupon he worked worked for Lyons security and for Apple as a security guard. He was promoted last year in December to Day Shift Supervisor. Ravindra was the rock of his family. He was a great man who always thought of others first. He was active in charity work, including helping those in his community whether they needed financial or emotional support. And despite always being there for everyone else, he never asked anyone for help or money. He did everything he could to make sure that his family would never suffer. Ravindra was a devoted and doting husband, the best any woman could ask for. He was also a wonderful father; he treated his daughters like princesses and supported them in all their endeavors, teaching them to be strong, independent women and never to compromise their self respect. The dedication and love that his mum provided in his upbringing, is reflected in Ravindra's love and dedication to his family and others. On December 6, 2012, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. He passed away on March 3, 2014 due to an acute myocardial infarction. He is survived by his wife of 25 years Anjula, his daughters, his mother, sister Kamini Mishra, brothers Deo Vrat Sharma, Parmen Deo Sharma, and Arvind Deo Sharma, his in-laws Mr. and Mrs. Vidya Nand of Vancover, Canada, Nieces and nephews, cousins and many more family members and friends from all over the world (Fiji, New Zealand, Australia, the United States, Canada). They all send their love to him and wish for his soul to rest in peace as he was indeed a great soul.
