Mercedes passed away peacefully at home February 3, 2016 at the age of 95. She was born in the Philippines. She lived in San Francisco for many years before settling in Sacramento. Mercedes is now with her loving husband of 56 years Urbano Tejo who passed away in 1996. She is survived by her five children: Teresa Tejo Kelso, Lenore Gaviola (Frank), Arturo Tejo (Diana), Edwardo Tejo, and Fernando RenoTejo. She was the grandmother to Blossom Gaviola, Camille Esteban (Christopher), Dario Tejo, Dominic Tejo, and great-grandmother to Alexander, Jasmine, Xavier, and Norah.
