Born October 28, 1921 in Cleveland, Ohio. Passed away April 8, 2012 on Easter Sunday at the age of 90 surrounded by her loving family. Preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, James D. Smith, and her son James B. Smith. Loved and missed by her son Walter Smith and wife Elaine McPheeters of Elk Grove, daughter Marlene Goetz-Brown and Norm Brown of Cool. Forever remembered by her grandchildren Heather and Travis Whiting, Jeremy Smith, Brenna Smith, Julia Smith and Ryan Smith. Always adored by her great grandchildren Korie and Coty Whiting and Julien Smith. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She artfully created beautiful and delicious wedding cakes throughout her life, retired from 52 years in the field of banking, and was devoted to her Lutheran religion at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Sacramento. She will be loved and missed by all that knew her. A viewing will be held on Monday, April 16th, at 11am at the Sacramento Memorial Lawn, 6100 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento and service and celebration of life to immediately follow at noon. She will then be laid to rest next to her beloved husband and dear sweet father to Jimmy, Marlene and Walter.
