TAYLOR, PAULINE age 98 of Sacramento, CA passed away on February 15, 2015. She was born on October 5, 1916 in Ada, Oklahoma to Jasper Rance and Amanda Pearl (Roper) Jones. She was predeceased by her parents, husband of 61 years, Silas Cleo Taylor, sisters Mildred O'Brien and Shirley Whitehead. She was raised in Ada where she graduated high school and later went to Norman, OK to attend business school. Upon returning to Ada, she met her husband SC. They were married on February 20, 1939. They moved to Porterville, California in 1941 where their first son James Harold was born in 1943. They moved to Sacramento in 1944 where she had another son, Robert Ray (1946) and lived out the rest of her life. When her boys got older, she went to work for the school district working in various school cafeterias. After six years, she quit working and went on the road with her husband traveling all over the western states until he retired in 1981. When they retired they traveled for another ten years seeing the United States. Pauline was an instructor for other quilters. In 1976 she was instrumental in helping put together a 1976 Bi-Centennial quilt in front of the freedom train in Carpinteria, CA. She was a very active member of the Merwyn Memorial Methodist Church for many years. Pauline is survived by her two children, James and his wife Ginger, Robert and his wife Andrea, five grandchildren, Christopher, Curtis, Joseph, Tracy and Timothy and their spouses, eleven great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter
