Obituary of Yuk Lau

Born September 23, 1926 in Yuanguang, China, he passed away at his home in Sacramento, California on April 26, 2010. Yuk is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years Po Lin, his sons, daughters-in-law and 11 grandchildren: Steve, his wife Annie and their children Kathleen, Jason and Maggie; Richard, his wife Alice, and daughter Karen; Paul, his wife Kara, and their children Alex, Anthony, Andrew, Adam, Adrian, Allan, and Analise. Yuk made a living in China sewing shoes in his own shoe making shop. He came to San Francisco, California in 1973, with the hopes of providing a better way of life for his children. They moved to New York and lived there for 3 years before moving back to Sacramento, California in 1976. Yuk was a proud chef and owner of "Yuk Lau Restaurant" in Rocklin, where it's doors were open from 1980-1990. In his free time, Yuk enjoyed playing Ma Jong, going to Thunder Valley Casino, and he loved to travel to Las Vegas, and visit family in China. He will be dearly missed. A visitation will be held Wednesday, May 5, 2010 from 4:00pm-8:00pm, with Funeral Ceremonies Thursday, May 6, at 10:00am, both at Sacramento Memorial Lawn. Committal to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the Yushu County, Qinghai Province earthquake relief.
