Obituary of Edythmae Jones
Please share a memory of Edythmae to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Edythmae passed into eternal rest on March 13, 2015. She was born September 5, 1923, in Winters, California, to Frank and Kathryn Ruggles. Edythmae graduated from Winters High School in 1941 and moved to Sacramento to attend Heald Business School. She served the Lord as secretary of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church for over 23 years. She was a faithful member of that congregation from 1958 until its closure in 2010. She joined the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd and attended services regularly until her health prevented it. Edythmae enjoyed crafts, making and giving away hundreds of items. She was an avid sports fan, following northern California professional sports teams. She attended and supported family members through the years in all their activities. We rejoice that she has now joined her late husband, William A. "Bill" Jones, in the perfect presence of Jesus. Edythmae is survived by her daughter Kathy (Peter) Olson, son Frank (Gail) Jones, grandson Jacob (Rachel) Olson, granddaughter Elizabeth Olson (Jacob Twomey) and great granddaughter Molly Olson. Edythmae was a strong, loving, and generous woman whose beautiful smile, bright blue eyes, and unconditional love will be missed. A Memorial Service will be held at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 1615 Morse Ave., Sacramento, on Friday, March 20, 2015, at 2pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd
