George D. Redmon, 74 Sergeant Major George D. Redmon, USMC (Ret.), of Sacramento, CA. passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, July 8, 2014. George was preceded in death by his father George W. Redmon, his mother Mildred Sheppard Kirk, his step-father Orville Kirk, brothers Tom and Walter Redmon, and his granddaughter Shiloh Keller. He took extreme pride in his 30 years of service in the United States Marine Corps. During that time he served two tours in Vietnam. After traveling the United States and abroad for his country, he and his wife settled in Sacramento, where he owned his own business. He loved to work with his hands and would spend countless hours doing yard work, working on cars and tinkering around his garage. He is survived by his devoted wife Linda of 47 years, daughter Renata (Dennis) Partrich, son Robert (Trena) Redmon, sister Berenda (Jon) Tignor, step-mother Mary, grandchildren: Shelby Keller, William (Emily) Keller, Rhea Redmon, Hunter Redmon, Shawn (Carly) Shipman, Rian Tichenor, and Daylin Munoz; and one great-granddaughter Zoey Shipman. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Sacramento Memorial Lawn Garden Chapel. George will be laid to rest at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery.
