Obituary of Robert Ray Wilson

Robert "Bobby Ray" Wilson was born Dec 4, 1928 in Marysville, CA to Thomas and Rachel Wilson. He passed away Mar 21, 2013 at the age of 84 in Sacramento, CA. Bobby was raised in Wheatland, CA with three brothers, Kenneth, William, Gerald and sister, Nancy. He married Joanne Sidener in 1949. They resided in Sacramento where Bobby worked on the railroad, drove truck, and had a fulfilling career as a Sacramento City Fireman for over 30 years. He learned to cook as a young fireman and became quite the excellent cook. He often cooked for large groups such as family reunions, girl's camp, weddings and other gatherings. He also loved the outdoors and fishing with his buddies. He had many lifelong friends. He was always there to help and support any one of us no matter the situation. He will forever be a strong and stern example of how to care for your loved ones. He is survived by Joanne his wife of 64 years, 4 children, Charles, Robert "Butch" (Carol), Steven ( Dara), Susan (Chris)James, a brother William (Laverne), a sister Nancy Tarrant, 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by brothers: Kenneth and Gerald, sisters-in-law: Winnie and Elsie, and two granddaughters. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 26 from 5pm-8pm, and Wednesday, March 27 from 8:30am-9:30am with Funeral Services at 10am, Sacramento Memorial Lawn.
