I went to college with Ty. My junior year, his first year. He made an immediate and really big influence on everyone. He had an easy personality and made everyone feel like he was their friend. And he was mature. I remember when he became class president and I remember when he decided to leave Holy Names and attend mortuary school. I always wondered how things worked out for him. Looks like he was very successful in the mortuary/funeral business and I am not surprised. My condolences to the fiancé and family and friends and all who loved him. Rest well, Ty.

When you think of Ty, you think of a loving, caring and funny man. He would take the time to check on you and always asked about your family as well. I was looking forward for him moving out to Georgia, seeing him getting married and enjoying his life. He was always taking care of people and serving the community. He was my little brother and I had the privilege to see him grow up to the great man he became. I'm truly going to miss you!!

Ty you're going to be greatly missed. We've been friends since we were kids. You were always such a huge part of my life. I'll forever cherish all of the memories of all of the things we did together. It's too many to name. Even when our lives took us in different directions we always came back together like no time at all had passed. Not only did we have a personal relationship you were there for me in your professional capacity as well. You helped my children and I get through one of the most difficult times in our lives. You always have and will always be one of my dearest friends I love you and I always will. Rest well my dear, dear friend until we meet again.
Love, LaShawna Scardina and family

Ty P. Gilliam, I've known you since 1995. Met you at the sun valley mall parking lot when Alex signed off on your apprenticeship. It was 94 or 95, but we have been really good friends over the years. You have taught me things, advised me, even educated me. There are many many things I'm going to miss about you. For one the phone calls of you ordering stuff to eat, especially those big oatmeal cookies with the big raisins in them. And there were times I'd do the same and you'd just laugh. You truly are going to be missed. There are 2 people in the industry that was really close to me, Mr, Riolo, Mr, Stewart that have since passed. Now you are the 3rd. You were there for me when my son passed in March of 2020, There are too many times we have supported each over the years and there was never a dull moment. The time you rode to Truckee Tahoe Mortuary back in 2001. And you vowed to never ride with me again, But you held on to that ham sandwich, Ty you really are going to be missed. This really was a huge shock when Bishop K.M. Weaver gave me the news of your passing. I thank God I had and took the opportunity to take you out to one of your favorite places to eat for your birthday. And we have a real good time just talking about the industry and you were ready to move out to ATL. There are just too many good great times over the years. I thank God for our friendship. All of the Instagram DMs, we always had each other laughing at other people's funny issues. You are a one in a Billion friend and there will never be another TY P. GILLIAM....Rest on bruah
